Review of the Month: Rosemary Tea, KingCha’s Newest Tea

In the realm of tea, life is best lived one sip at a time.”

As an avid tea drinker, I have always been on the lookout for new and exciting flavours to tantalize my taste buds. From the time when everybody kept raving about chamomile tea as a healthy substitute for our desi masala chai to when we witnessed the ever so evolving tea blends from every corner of the world, I can’t help but dive into these rich concoctions.

So, when a friend introduced me to the brand King Cha, I was initially overwhelmed by their collection. I didn’t know which tea blend to pick up although my heart kept leaning towards their green tea blends. My friend suggested I try their Rosemary tea, which was recently added to their collection.

And I thought to myself, why not?

Since I had never tried rosemary as a stand-alone herb in any form, I was both intrigued and hesitant to try it out. First impressions are everything, and the packaging of this tea certainly did not disappoint. The intricate design is adorned with vibrant traditional patterns conveying a sense of tranquillity and comfort. When I opened the box, an enchanting earthy fragrance enveloped the kitchen, and I was very impressed by the generous concentration of fresh rosemary leaves.

Upon inspecting the tea leaves, I was struck by the light green colour. The delicate needle-like leaves were dried to perfection, leaving a soft impression on my fingers as I examined the texture. The mere act of inhaling the herbal scent of the sample brought a sudden calmness to my senses.

As the water kept bubbling on the stove, I took 1 large teaspoon of the tea and poured it into the pan and witnessed the colour developing. As I waited for the perfect brew, the tonic released a light-yellow essence with every passing second.

After a couple of minutes, I held the steaming cup in my hands enwrapped by its invigorating and sharp fragrance. When I took the first sip, I felt powerful notes of pepper and woody citrus hints. I could immediately perceive the immense benefits of this concoction as I delved deeper into its zesty palate. So, as I sipped on the warm cup, I began searching about this tea on the web and found some exciting information.

Rosemary is a humble herb packed with hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. I already knew about its detoxifying benefits and how it is used as a natural remedy for hair growth however it is also a great source for the treatment of various health benefits like:

  1. Improving Digestion

Rosemary tea is known to relieve indigestion, bloating, and upset stomach. The soothing properties of Rosemary help calm the digestive tract, promoting smoother digestion and reducing gastrointestinal distress.

  1. Helps Fight Infection and Boost Immune System

Rosemary also contains antibiotic properties and is effective in treating bacterial infections. When it comes to fortifying our immune systems, Rosemary tea is a wonderful ally. Packed with antioxidants and essential nutrients, this tea can help strengthen your body's defense against harmful pathogens.

  1. Reduces Stress and Lifts Up the Mood

A warm cup of Rosemary tea can be a comforting companion during those moments when you need a little emotional support. Studies have shown that it can help improve mental function, which could help you cope with stress more effectively.

  1. Improving Blood Circulation

Rosemary has an antiplatelet effect, which means it can help to prevent blood clots. This can be beneficial for people with a history of circulation problems, or for those who need to be on bed rest for an extended period (after some surgery, for example).

These are just a few of the incredible benefits that Rosemary tea brings to the table. As I finished my cup of tea, I realized it could have been better with a splash of honey in it, or maybe a piece of cake. I kept beaming with ideas and thought of sharing them here. If you’re uncertain with experimenting with herbal teas because they don’t necessarily taste good, then you must try these suggestions:

  1. Add lemon and honey to any herbal tea of your choice and it will accentuate the flavours for sure!
  2. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon and bring out the spicy nutty notes from your tea.
  3. It’s great to pair your herbal tea with a favourite fruit of your choice. The fruity flavours harmonize with the herbal notes, creating a refreshing combination.
  4. My favourite accompaniment is dark chocolate. Indulge in a square of quality dark chocolate alongside your herbal tea for a decadent treat.

Remember, the art of pairing snacks with herbal tea is all about personal preference and exploration. Feel free to mix and match, experiment with different flavors and textures, and let your taste buds guide you on a delightful culinary adventure. Yet so, do it mindfully.

Thanks to KingCha, I now have a healthy tea brew to add to my daily routine and has become a beloved addition to my tea collection.
